RAISONS TO GET AWAY

Longevity can vary widely -Markets are now behind in zoom

The new everything iPhone has a better camera resolution, longer battery life, improved performance, and all-new functionality.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max is Apple’s new flagship iPhone. It features the same size 6.7-inch 120Hz display, but it has the power-efficient always-on functionality. Also, the notch is gone in favor of the new Dynamic Islands.

The iOS 16-based user experience (out of the box at least), offers many new features and works with Dynamic Island to provide adaptive functionality from this display element that is detached from the bezel.

Only the iPhone 14 Pro, and Pro Max will get to experience Apple’s latest mobile silicon, the A16 Bionic. This new chip delivers superior performance and better power efficiency than its predecessor.

This chipset supports the new triple camera array. It features a 48MP quadpixel lead sensor with superior video and photography capabilities. The chip also allows for 2x lossless optical zoom without the need of an additional sensor. The main snapper is accompanied by an upgraded ultrawide camera and a familiar 3x Telephoto camera. This chipet is arguably one of the 14 Pro/Pro Max’s weakest bits.

If you are okay with the iPhone 14 Pro Max’s large size and high price (which are higher in some markets like Australia and the UK), then there is no better iPhone than the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

RAISONS TO GET AWAY

-Higher(er) prices YoY-Still Lighting (no U-C)

The standard iPhone 14 Pro Max can be used as a substitute if the iPhone 14 Pro Max is too large or too costly for your taste.

Apple’s latest A16 Bionic chip is the foundation of one of its best iPhones, and it’s also one of the most powerful on the market. The iPhone 13 Pro Max’s 6.1-inch screen is still the same size as the iPhone 13 Pro Max. However, the Pro generation shrugs off the notch to make way for Dynamic Island, a smart cutout in the display that houses Face ID components and also allows you to connect AirPods.

ProMotion tech allows visuals to range from 10Hz through a super-smooth, 120Hz in general usage. However, the new 1Hz mode enables all-on display functionality, paired with smart new lock screens courtesy of iOS 16.

The 48MP main sensor is now the front of the rear triple camera. It takes better stills or video than its predecessors. This makes it the most versatile iPhone camera yet. This narrows the gap with key rivals like Samsung and other manufacturers.

The 14 Pro is a capable phone that can be bought for a high price. It’s also more affordable than the Pro Max.

-120Hz screen is minimally upgraded-Cinematic mode can be quite basic

The iPhone 13 Pro Max is Apple’s best iPhone 13 range. It has the longest battery life and is undoubtedly the most exciting. It can last forever, and although it isn’t quite as long-lasting as the most expensive phones, it has the longest battery life of any iPhone.

Apple’s A15 Bionic chipset provides significantly more performance than other Android phones and is also much faster than the iPhones before it. This is despite the fact that benchmark scores are all we have, so in real life most users won’t be able to fully tap into its potential.

The camera also received an upgrade. Low light shots are particularly impressive and the macro mode opens up the iPhone range to a whole new kind of photography.

We didn’t find the Cinematic mode or 120Hz screen to be as impressive in practice. However, we are happy that this is the last Pro that has a notch (now, that the iPhone 14 Pro Max and 14 Pro Max have added the Dynamic Island), and overall, this is an excellent upgrade for Apple’s Max series and one of the best iPhones.
